Surface Preparation

internal & external timberEXTERNAL AND INTERNAL TIMBER

  1. Sand smooth before applying paint
  2. Remove all dust and dirt from surface
  3. Undercoat with dulux total prep sealer/undercoat
  4. Fill all cracks and holes with appropriate timber filler
  5. Sand down patched areas than undercoat
  6. Apply 2 finish coats of paint

previously painted surfacesPREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES

  1. Sand down surfaces to remove any imperfections
  2. Fill holes and cracks with suitable fillers, allow to dry and sand smooth
  3. Remove all dust and ensure surface is clean and free from any contamination
  4. Undercoat sanded areas and allow to dry
  5. Apply 2 finish coats of paint

gyprock & plasterboardNEW GYPROCK/ PLASTER BOARD

  1. Ensure all joints have been sanded smooth
  2. Dust down all areas with soft broom
  3. Undercoat with dulux total prep sealer/undercoat
  4. Fill any imperfections with skim coat, allow to dry and sand smooth
  5. Touch up patched areas with sealer
  6. Apply 2 finish coats of paint

cement renderCEMENT RENDER

  1. Allow render to cure for 3-5 weeks
  2. Pole sand walls to remove all loose sand particles
  3. Undercoat with appropriate sealer, allow to dry for 12 hours
  4. Apply 2 finish coats of paint

iron & galvanized steelIRON /GALVANISED STEEL

  1. Sand surface down and free from dust
  2. Any loose rust should be removed with wire brush
  3. Wipe surface down with mineral turps
  4. Undercoat with metal primer
  5. Apply 2 finish coats of paint
